I had the good fortune to be able to attend the Codemash Conference again this year. Since the conference started more than 10 years ago, I have only missed it twice. As in past years, there were a number of good sessions over the four days of the conference. Over the next few weeks I will be blogging about a few of them. The holidays are a time where memories are made with family and friends. It’s a time when we surf the internet to see photos of children with Santa, dogs wearing antlers, and recipes for eggnog. It’s a time when people take to e-commerce websites to shop, using their credit cards and bank accounts, trusting the sites to be secure.
And for the most part, they are: Companies worldwide focus millions of dollars and thousands of hours, annually, on their security and yet they still face threats and breaches. There are some issues we simply cannot control. What we can control is the safety of our own personal computers. Read more
Earlier this week at Microsoft’s Inspire conference, CEO Satya Nadella announced the release of Microsoft 365, an solution that bundles Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. The service offers two routes: Enterprise (for larger organizations) and Business (for small to mid-size businesses). Both plans will be available for purchase in early August.
In a blog post, Kirk Koenigsbauer, VP of the Office team, describes Microsoft 365 as “a complete, intelligent and secure solution to empower employees…to be creative and work together, securely.”
